Some of us would argue that Patristics have never gone out of vogue in the Catholic Church, even if the approach taken to them was not as singular and exclusive as has been found to be the case in some segments of the Eastern Churches.
Six years ago in 2002, this was not exactly cutting edge trend spotting.
